The first male born baby at the Dormaa Hospital tomorrow will be named after Andre Ayew. The Traditional Council will cater for the baby till majority age to mark the historic visit.

Andre is leading a team of the Black Stars including his brother Jordan Ayew, Wakaso, Afena Gyan, Kudus Mohammed, Kamaladeen etc to play in a historic #AllStarFestival2023 match in Dormaa.

This is the first historic visit of the Black Stars to the region.

Ghana defender Salisu Mohammed has set a new record for himself at the Fifa World Cup as he scored the opening goal for the Black Stars against South Korea.

The Southampton centre-back connected a cross from Jordan Ayew to unsettle the Koreans in the first half.

Salisu’s goal makes him the first and only defender to have scored a goal for Ghana at any World Cup since the Black Stars made their debut appearance in 2006.

There was a lot of positive vibes surrounding the Black Stars when they continued with their preparations for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Madagascar and Central Africa Republic.

Almost every player called up by coach Otto Addo was present including captain Andre Ayew and his brother Jordan Ayew.

Also, debutants Augustine Okrah and Hearts of Oak youngster Daniel Afriyie Barnieh as well as Wakaso Mubarak were all around.

The coaches were impressed with how the players composed themselves in the tasks given them as tactics and formations to be used against Madagascar in particular on Wednesday.

During training, Andre Ayew appeared to have picked up a knock after a challenge from Gideon Mensah but he quickly brushed it away.

Ayew later continued with the session. Wakaso Mubarak who has also been without a football game for almost six months had a wonderful training.

Per our sources, Wakaso may start against Madagascar and Augustine Okrah will likely make the final 23 matchday squad to be used on Wednesday.

Otto Addo has been hugely impressed with Okrah’s output at training and he is ready to give him a chance to make his bow.

The team will depart Ghana on Thursday to Central Africa Republic to play the second game of the group.

After a couple of hours since the E-ticket for the first leg of 2022 Fifa World Cup playoffs between Ghana and Nigeria went live, the 5,000 seats allocated for VIP out of the total seating capacity of 40,528 have been sold out, AshesGyamera.com can confirm.

With each VIP ticket going for GH₵100 ($13.3), many Ghanaians and Nigerians have bought them and are now patiently waiting for Friday to support their respective country in a bid to make it to Qatar 2022.

National Sports Authority (NSA) of Ghana teamed up with Ministry of Youth and Sports as well as Ghana Football Association to come up with an easy way of purchasing tickets for the cliffhanger encounter in order to avoid the usual stress which supporters and enthusiasts go through.

Fans can now easily buy a ticket with their phones by dialing the short code *711# and then select option 2. They later fill a short form and their tickets numbers with barcodes will be sent to them for verification at the gates on Friday.

Anyone who wishes to be at the stadium can purchase a ticket for himself or herself as well as other friends and relatives. One mobile number can buy two tickets in order to avoid hoarding and black market.

As at Wednesday evening, the tickets left on the market were East Stand (Yellow) popularly known as Centre-line which goes for GH₵50 per ticket.

Also, some tickets for North Stand (Red) and South Stand (Green) are still available and each ticket costs GH₵30 respectively.

Ghana’s squad touched down in Kumasi on Tuesday and they later trained at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium with 26 players since Jordan Ayew was yet to report due to ill health.

However, the Crystal Palace forward arrived on Wednesday from England and has joined his teammates to fine tune ahead of the game.

Meanwhile, Nigeria’s contingent will arrive in Accra, Ghana on Thursday morning. They will connect another flight from Accra to Kumasi and later train at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium which will host the game.

The Nigerians are expected to lodge at the Golden Tulip Hotel between Thursday and Saturday.

Ghana and Crystal Palace forward Jordan Ayew has been passed fit to play against Nigeria in the first leg of the 2022 Fifa World Cup playoffs at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Friday.

The 29-year-old was initially tested positive for COVID-19 last weekend and that even ruled him out of Crystal Palace’s 3-0 victory over Everton in the FA Cup.

However, upon further checks on Tuesday, he has been passed fit to travel to Ghana and join the national team as Black Stars prepare for Nigeria.

“Jordan Ayew has tested negative for Covid and will join the team later this week in Kumasi ahead of the Nigeria game,” Director of Communication of Ghana FA Henry Asante said in an interview.

“Everyone is happy that he is finally coming. We know his quality and what he brings on board to the team. The coaches will determine whether he will start the game or not,” he added.

Meanwhile, twelve players who represented the country at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations have dropped from the squad to be used against Nigeria.

Former Ghana Youth and Sports minister Nii Lanteh Vanderpuye says Crystal Palace forward Jordan Ayew should never start games for Black Stars.

According to Vanderpuye, Ayew is always effective when he start games from the bench as he

“If I was the coach, I wouldn’t have played Jordan Ayew at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations,” Vanderpuye said in an interview with Joy FM.

“I would’ve played other players like Samuel Owusu. Jordan Ayew performs better when he comes from the bench as he can understand the opponents proper when he sits on the bench and follow the game.”

Vanderpuye further mentioned names of players who impressed him hugely despite Ghana’s poor showing at the Afcon.

“There were however some players who were very impressive. Players who really impressed me were Alexander Djiku, Daniel Kofi Kyereh, Joseph Paintsil, Kamaldeen Sulemana, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku and Samuel Owusu. These players obviously have prospects for the future,” he added.

Ghana failed to win any of their three games in the group stage of the Afcon as they lost to Morocco and minnows Comoros. The Black Stars also drew with Gabon which left them bottom of the table of Group C.

Ghana forward Jordan Ayew was a second half substitute when Crystal Palace suffered a 3-1 home defeat to Liverpool in the Premier League at the Selhurst Park in Bibiani on Sunday.

The 30-year-old was part of the Black Stars squad that represented Ghana at 2021 Africa Cup of Nations. However, he failed to register a single shot on target or score a goal for Ghana as the Black Stars bowed out of the tournament with defeats to Morocco and minnows Comoros.

Ayew availed himself to Palace technical team for selection was quickly drafted into the matchday squad but could only start from the bench.

Liverpool scored the first goal of the game through Virgil van Dijk by the eighth minute after he connected a pass from Andrew Robertson.

Liverpool doubled their lead by the 32nd minute through Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain when he combined with Andrew Robertson.

After the break, Palace pulled one back after Odsonne Edouard latched on to Jesse Philipe-Mateta’s pass by the 55th minute.

Ayew was then thrown into the game by 77th minute by head coach Patrick Veirra to replace Will Hughes in their search for the equaliser.

However, Liverpool broke their hearts with a late goal through penalty by Fabinho on the 89th minute. A foul on Diogo Jota was initially ruled out by the referee only for VAR to overrule the decision.

Palace now sit 13th on the stand with 24 points, seven points clear of relegation zone.

Premier League side Crystal Palace have signed English-born defender with Ghanaian descent Joshua Addae in a long term deal.

The 18-year-old highly rated defender is expected to join the junior side of the club and continue his development.

“Crystal Palace have added 18-year-old right-back Joshua Addae to their Under-18 squad,” a club statement read.

“The teenager last played for Langley F.C, and now joins Rob Quinn’s Palace side. He is a right-back with attacking attributes, and also has experience playing wing-back,” the statement added.

Addae revealed his delight after putting pen to paper and promised to give his best to the club.

“I’m enjoying my time here and trying to give my all and give everything I can offer. It’s important for my family because they always knew I could do it,” Addae told the club’s website.

Crystal Palace Academy Director Gary Issott heaped praise on Addae and advised him to work hard to realise his dreams.

“Josh is a talented young player who has impressed us in recent weeks. He needs to work hard on his tactical and physical development now he has this opportunity, and ensure he makes the most of the chance our Academy offers,” he said.

Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac took the Black Stars through new tactics and formations following the 3-0 drubbing by Algeria in the international friendly game on Wednesday.

With Ghana hoping to win the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations holding in Cameroon next week, Milovan stepped up his preparations with new tactics and formations which he believes will help the team to achieve their aims at the tournament.

The defeat to Algeria, although very painful, has given Milovan a fair idea of what he should expect against Morocco on Monday.

As a result, the Black Stars were taken through series of training to be able to match the North Africans in order to have a good start at the tournament.

However, Crystal Palace forward Jordan Ayew and St. Pauli midfielder Daniel Kofi Kyereh could not begin the training session with their teammates as they are reportedly having some injury concerns.

The duo went through a different training and they are expected to join their teammates on Friday at training when the Black Stars hold their final session in Doha, Qatar before they leave to Cameroon.

Dreams FC youngster Abdul Fatawu Issahaku who picked up an injury in the game against Algeria is responding to treatment and could be match ready for the game against Morocco.
