The Black Stars midfielder has finally met the enthusiastic fan who travelled several kilometres just to watch his game last week

Ghana superstar Kudus Mohammed has met a West Ham United fan who made a shocking journey from United Kingdom to Ghana just to watch him in action.

Kudus recently joined West Ham from Ajax Amsterdam and made his debut in the victory over Brighton and Hove Albion as he came on very late on the game.

Since he could not have enough time in the game, a West Ham United fan opted to travel from London to Kumasi just to see the new player his boyhood club has signed.

Fortunately for him, he had a wonderful experience as Kudus scored a spectacular goal from free kick to level the scoreline for Ghana after they had conceded a goal in the first half.

Ghana went on to win the game 2-1 thanks to a late Nuamah’s goal and that sealed their qualification to participate in next year’s Africa Cup of Nations to be staged in Cote d’Ivoire.

Kudus is expected to be in action at that Accra Sports Stadium when Ghana play Liberia in an international friendly on Tuesday before he heads back to join West Ham.

Ghana midfielder Kudus Mohammed has joined West Ham in a five year deal from Ajax, the two clubs have officially confirmed.

Kudus, who touched down in London with his mother and two brothers, could not hide his joy and admitted that he has been dreaming to play in the Premier League since childhood.

“I’ve been dreaming to play in a league like this since I was a kid.

“I’ve been dreaming of this moment and I’m so happy to be here. But it doesn’t stop here, I want to keep going.

“I try my best to entertain the fans as I think that’s what football is all about. I’m just here to do my best and help the team.

The former West Ham record signing was linked led with several European clubs this summer but he opted to play in the Gulf region and has now lift the lid on the rationale behind it

Ghana captain and former Swansea City superstar Andre Ayew has revealed that he joined Qatari giants Al Sadd because he feels it was the best among the many options he was presented with.

The 32-year-old saw his contract with Swansea expired in June and he after the club failed to qualify to play in the Premier League this season, he decided to leave England to team up with Barcelona legend Xavi Hernandez who is currently building a legacy in Qatar with Al Sadd.

Ayew’s father, Abedi Ayew Pele, played with Al Sadd close to four decades ago and he had a major say in his son’s move.

“To be honest, Al Sadd is a club I know and I have followed for a long time. My father played here and this is the club that gave him the opportunity to leave Ghana. So it’s a club that I always followed. I followed the players who played here: Raul, Mamadou Niang, Abdelkader Keita – a lot of players played for this great club,” Ayew told his club’s website.

“As soon as I was informed that Al-Sadd was interested, I thought straightaway that it was a very good idea for me. For me, it’s the best club in the Gulf; I watched their style of play and it’s the best club here.”

He continued: “It’s also a club which I have a personal history with due to my father
I followed the club when I was young because my father always followed the club’s results. It wasn’t a surprise for me, I was very happy and proud, but I had to take some time to make the decision, because I had a few offers from the Gulf and from Europe, so I had to take time to make the right decision.”

“But as soon as I spoke to the coach Xavi, I knew this was the right place for me for my future. Then I took the decision to come and everything happened fast.”

“When you play for Al-Sadd, you know you have to win everything. We will try to do what we did last season – to win every trophy. And then next year, we will have the chance to play in the Champions League. We will take it step by step and for me, it’s important now to continue with what we started.”

“I hope I can be part of the winning team this season also inshaAllah. We will try and win maximum games and bring trophies to the club, and also try and prepare for the big tournament – the Champions League.” he concluded.

Ayew also shed lights on Al Sadd’s preseason currently ongoing in Spain and believes all is going well for him and his teammates.

“Everything is great,” said Ayew. “I feel good because the players made me feel good. The players who have been here for a long time, they all accommodated me well.

“They included me in the family and that’s very important for me because I feel before you are able to perform on the pitch, you have to feel good. The players are making me feel welcome and I want to thank them for the welcome they gave me.

“I’m still getting to know everybody, getting to know how training is going, the tactics, what the coach wants. But I am really sure everything will be fine. It is a process, but from what I’ve seen so far, everything has been great.

“The training, the fun between the players, everything has been great. I’m happy and this is what’s important for me. Now I have to get to my 100% and deliver on the field.”

The Ghana midfielder has completed a loan move to the Turkish top-flight after failing to help them avoid relegation

Ghana midfielder Andre Ayew has agreed a season-long loan move to Turkish Super Lig side Fenerbache from Swansea City, both clubs have confirmed.

The 28-year-old, who joined West Ham United in a record transfer fee of ÂŁ20.5 million from Swansea in 2016, suffered a hamstring injury on his debut game against Chelsea and later returned to the Welsh side after falling down the pecking order in David Moyes’ setup and has signed a season-long loan deal with an option to make the deal a permanent one.

“Ayew today left the Swans’ pre-season tour in Austria to travel to Turkey for a medical ahead of his move to the Super Lig, which will be completed subject to international clearance,” a club’s statement read.

“The Turkish giants will also have the option to purchase Ayew on a permanent deal at the end of his loan spell,” the statement added.

Swansea coach Graham Potter, who recently replaced Carlos Calvahal, lauded Ayew’s attitude during pre-season.
“I understand the circumstances of the move – it’s part of the restructure of us going forward,” he said.

“From my perspective, he has been brilliant. He has applied himself in training, supported what we are trying to do and been very professional.
“He has been a joy to work with and we wish him the best,” he added.

Ayew becomes the latest Ghanaian to don the jersey of Fenerbahce after former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah and Sam ‘Foyoo’ Johnson.

The brothers put up a superb performance against the Hammers with Andre, in particular, leaving the field with standing ovation from both supporters

Ghana midfielder Andre and younger brother Jordan Ayew were in action when Swansea City hammered West Ham 4-1 on Saturday in the Premier League at the Liberty Stadium.

The duo were starting a game at club side for the first time in almost five seasons, after Andre made a return to Swansea from West Ham during the January transfer window.

It was Sung-Yueng Ki who set the ball rolling on the eight minute, after he connected a pass from Andre Ayew to open the scoring for Swansea before Mike van der Hoorn added another to make it 2-0 by the 32nd minute as Sung-Yueng Ki, who scored the opener turned from a goalscorer to become a provider.

Three minutes after the break, Andy King made it 3-0 for Swansea before Jordan Ayew added another goal on 63rd minute from the spot.

West Ham finally got their consolation goal through substitute Michael Antonio, after Aaron Cresswell furnished him with the opportunity on 78th minute but they could not find another goals despite David Moyes pushing men upfront.

Swansea have now leapfrogged West Ham on the log despite both having 30 points, but the Welsh side occupy 13th position with superior goal difference.

The Ayew brothers are now expected to play part in Swansea’s next game against Huddersfield next weekend.

The Ghanaian re-joined the Jack Army on January transfer deadline day after failing to make the mark at West Ham this season

Ghana midfielder Andre Ayew believes he has now recovered from a troublesome hamstring injury he sustained and ready to feature for Swansea City ahead of their Premier League game against Burnley on Saturday at the Liberty Stadium.

The 28-year-old who has been struggling with injuries recently opted to sign for the Welsh club once again after falling down the pecking order in David Moyes’ setup at West Ham.

“I have had a full week of training and feel ready but we will have to see – it will be up to the boss,” Ayew told his club’s website.

“I am excited to have this second opportunity with Swansea. I am 28 and still have a lot to give.

“The team have put together a great run in the last few weeks and I hope to help build on that with the games we have in the coming weeks.”

Swansea City are without a defeat in their previous four games played in all competitions but are struggling to beat the drop in the Premier League and Ayew insists they will achieve their target.

“You are always under pressure in life, but we have a great club with great fans,” he said.

“There are a lot of people behind our team. I am confident, but we must not be afraid to take challenges.

“We want to stay in the Premier League and as a team, we are going to do everything to make sure we achieve that,” he added.

Ayew will have the opportunity to play with his younger brother Jordan, for the first time at club side in almost five seasons, if he is selected by coach Carlos Carvalhal.

After 18 months in London the Ghana international has returned to Wales, where he will play alongside brother Jordan

Swansea City have broken their transfer record to bring Andre Ayew back to the club from West Ham.

Ayew has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal after the Swans paid a reported ÂŁ18 million for his services.

The Hammers forked out ÂŁ20.5m – then a club record – for the Ghana international 18 months ago, and the midfielder has only started 25 Premier League games since.

A hamstring injury suffered on his West Ham debut affected his momentum last term and Ayew has only started three league games since David Moyes took over at London Stadium.

Ayew scored 12 goals in 34 league games in his previous, solitary season at the Liberty Stadium after signing on a free from Marseille and joins a Swans side on the up after victories over Liverpool and Arsenal, which vaulted them out of the Premier League’s relegation zone on Tuesday.

The Ghana international will also have the opportunity to play alongside his younger brother Jordan, who is in his second season with the Swans after joining from Aston Villa in 2017.
