The Black Stars skipper among others have been served letters to face the country’s parliament this week and next week following the abysmal performance at the 2021 Afcon

Ghana’s senior national team captain Andre Ayew has been ordered to appear before the country’s parliament next week to answer questions following the Black Stars’ shambolic performance at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations held in Cameroon.

The Black Stars failed to win any of their three games played in the group stage -the country’s worse ever performance – leading to the sacking of coach Milovan Rajevac.

As a result, a four-man new technical team involving Otto Addo as the interim coach and two assistants Didi Dramani and George Boateng, as well as technical advisor in the person of former Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur boss Chris Hughton have been appointed to steer the affairs of the team for the upcoming Fifa World Cup qualifiers against Nigeria next month.

However, Ayew and some top members of Ghana Football Association, GHALCA and Ministry of Youth and Sports have been ordered to appear before Ghana Parliament this week and next week to answer several questions which bothers on the team’s future.

The Magpies former boss’ dream of leading the country of his descendants could not materialised as he has rather been offered an advisory role ahead of the cliffhanger World Cup qualifiers against Nigeria

Former Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur boss Chris Hughton has been named as the new technical advisor of Ghana.

Hughton has been in Africa for almost two weeks and even met the Ghana’s president Nana Akufo-Addo to discuss the opportunity of becoming the head coach of the Black Stars.

However, he has missed out on the opportunity and will rather work closely with Borussia Dortmund assistant coach Otto Addo who has been named as the new head coach of Ghana by the Football Association on Wednesday.

Hughton will work with former Middlesbrough captain George Boateng and Didi Dramani, who is currently working with WAFA Academy as their director of football.

“Former Newcastle United and Brighton and Hove Albion manager Chris Hughton has been appointed as Technical Advisor to the newly constituted Black Stars Technical team led by Otto Addo,” a Ghana FA statement read.

“Other members of the new Technical team include George Boateng and Mas-Ud Didi Dramani. The 63- year old will provide Technical advice to the three man team for next month’s FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 play-off match against Nigeria.

“The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association took the decision at a meeting held in Accra on Wednesday, February 9, 2022. Otto Addo, a former Ghana player is currently the Assistant Coach of German Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund – he boasts of about 13 years of Coaching experience that dates back to 2009 when he first took up the job of an Assistant Coach at Hamburger SV.

“The 46-year old previously worked as a scout for the Black Stars in 2013 prior to the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil and the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea.

“The four man team has been put together to take charge of the two matches against rivals Nigeria. The Black Stars will take on the Super Eagles at the Cape Coast stadium on March 24 before travelling to Nigeria for the 2nd leg at the Abuja Sports stadium on Sunday, March 27, 2022,” the statement added.

Former Ghana midfielder Otto Addo has been named as the new Black Stars coach, AshesGyamera.com can confirm.

The former Borussia Dortmund assistant coach will replace Serbian coach Milovan Rajevac who was fired last week after a poor performance at 2021 Africa Cup of Nations held in Cameroon.

The Black Stars failed to win any of their three games at the competition and surprisingly lost to Comoros and Morocco as well as shared the spoils with Gabon.

“Former Newcastle United and Brighton and Hove Albion manager Chris Hughton has been appointed as Technical Advisor to the newly constituted Black Stars Technical team led by Otto Addo,” a GFA statement read.
